Contacting Mountain Rescue in Scotland

Anyone needing the assistance of a Mountain Rescue Team should:

• Dial 999 (or 112)
• Ask for the POLICE
• Tell the police operator you need Mountain Rescue

What information will I need to give?

• Your Name
• The Casualty's name
• Your Location (grid ref ideally, or name of obvious feature if not known)
• What injuries/medical problems there are
• What equipment you have
• What your group looks like

They cost £1 + P&P from the MCofS and in our opinion are a great addition to any outdoor first aid kit - we can all lose our heads when an accident happens!
