Border SAR members and a vehicle attended the Voluntary Organsiations Awareness Seminar in Edinburgh today, along with Tweed Valley MRT and Borders Underwater Search Team.  The aim of the event was to analyse the role of organsiations such as Mountain Rescue in civil emergencies such as the severe snow last winter.  

Inside the Scottish Government HQ, Team Leader Seymour Haugh gave a presentation on the capabilities and limitations of Mountain Rescue, and took part in a 'table-top' exercise based around various emergencies caused by severe weather.

Outside, the three teams set up a static display for delegates to view, and answered various questions about equipment and capabilities.  Pictured below is Chief Constable David Strang in front of the display.
