MCofS Launches Winter Safety Programme |

The MCofS has launched a programme targetted at walkers and mountaineers going out this winter. Resources are available online at http://www.mcofs.org.uk/winter-safety.asp and include
- Safety advice
- details of winter courses
- Avalanche awareness
- a video of Ice Axe arrest technique.
BSARU would commend these resources and courses to anyone venturing into the border hills this winter, where the conditions can still become dangerous, despite the recent mild winters. We would also recommend keeping abreast of the information posted on the Mountain Weather Information Service and the Scottish Avalanche Information Service.
